WELCOME TO THE 2019-2020 School Year!
Welcome to the official one stop shop for the Stillwater Area High School Bands. From this website, you can access everything you need to know about the band program and its history. Please subscribe to its blog (lower right of the front page) to receive updates in your email.
THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL
All band students should bring their instrument on the first day of class, as all ensembles will rehearse. Band folder assignments will be posted in the band room and band locker combinations are in your music folder slot. The band room will be open daily from 7:00 AM until 4:00PM. For students with activities after school who need access to their band locker, the windowed door entering the band room remains open until 6:00 PM.
Instrument Rental/Percussion Usage Fees are on FEE PAY
All percussionists and students using school owned instruments are required to pay $150 rental usage fee for the use of school owned instruments during the school year. This fee is used to repair and maintain school owned equipment. All rental/instrument usage fees should be paid through online Fee Pay. After payment is received, the instrument will be placed in your assigned locker.
Please note that this allows for use of the rented instrument throughout the year. For percussion, that means that all percussion are available for use both at school and at home.
MSHSL FORMS
MSHSL Eligibility forms will be due the first week of school. If you have completed these forms for another activity or sport, please let your director know. Read the information at the link below and return a signed copy of the MSHSL form attached below. This is the link to the 2018-19 forms.

CLASS SYLLABUS
Class Syllabi will be available on each ensembles page on the band website and on their Schoology page by 4PM, Friday, August 23. These also will be emailed out in a separate email to students from each conductor. They include a specific schedule of performances for each ensemble and ensemble requirements.
CONCERT DRESS
Concert Dress for the Stillwater Wind Symphony and Stillwater Wind Ensemble is a black tux for men and a concert black dress for the women. Fitting for both the dresses and tuxes will occur the week of September 5th during the school day.
Cost for tuxes/dresses and specifications for Concert Dress for our Percussion Ensemble is black pants and shoes with the Percussion Ensemble Shirt., Concert Band and Symphonic Bands wear black pants/skirts and shirts with red scarfs or ties. Scarves and Ties are sold to students for $10.
REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
The schedule for this year’s rehearsals and performances for all ensembles is listed under the tab Yearly Schedule on the band website as well as the calendar in Schoology. We are using Google calendars, which will allow you to see and download specific calendars for ensembles and performance schedules from the band website. A running schedule of upcoming events is also posted on the main page of the website at the bottom right.
Please check this schedule carefully and clear all conflicts ahead of time. Concert participation and dress rehearsals are required of all students.
JAZZ BANDS
Jazz Bands will begin rehearsals following Labor Day.
Payment of the Stillwater Activity Fee is required before you participate in jazz bands. It is $75 and is listed under Secondary Athletics and clubs on Fee Pay.
