Important information for the coming week for the SAHS Bands
To all Parents and Students,
Coming off of MEA break, there are a lot of important events coming up in the next 10 days. Here is what you need to know.
Monday, October 30 Kaleidoscope Concerts at 6:30 and 8:00 PM
Tickets have sold VERY WELL for both concerts. Our 6:30 concert is nearly sold out and our 8:00 concert has a limited supply of tickets remaining. If you have still not ordered tickets, please call the music department ticket hotline at 351-8208 to secure seats. Tickets will be held at will call for you. Tickets will be sold at the door on Monday night, but numbers will be limited.
CALL TIME FOR THE ENSEMBLES:
5:30 PM – Wind Ensemble (Hour 4) – On Stage (This is your dress rehearsal)
6:00 PM – Percussion Ensemble (Hour 6) and Symphonic Band (Hour 1) – Band Room
6:15 PM – Wind Symphony (Hour 5) – Music Commons and B108
7:15 PM – All Jazz Bands – Music Commons
7:30 PM – Concert Band (Hour 2) Band Room
Dress Rehearsals Sunday/Monday
Due to the State Soccer game on Monday morning, our dress rehearsals on stage have been altered. See the schedule below.
Sunday, October 29
4:00 – 6:00 PM – Percussion Ensemble – Enter Door 49W, we will have pizza at 6PM.
Monday, October 30
6:30AM – Wind Symphony Dress Rehearsal (breakfast at 6:30). We will play on stage from 7-7:35 AM.
Hour 1 – Symphonic Band (7:40 – please report directly to stage)
Hour 2 – Concert Band (your normal class time)….The students involved in the Pony Pep Band will be dismissed at 8:50AM.
2:15 PM – SuperSax Xtet – On Stage
2:30 – 3:30PM – Stillwater Jazz Ensemble – On Stage
State Soccer Tournament Pony Pep Band
We will leave at approximately 8:55AM on Monday from door 49 W. Students performing in the Pony Pep Band are listed at the link below. Students should bring money for food, as we will be at the game across the lunch hour. All Students on the list below have been excused from classes.
PONY PEP BAND 10/30 Student List
The Pony Pep Band will have two trips to the US Bank stadium this week. See below:
If the Ponies win on Monday, we will play again Thursday, Nov. 2. The bus will leave SAHS at 1:45PM from door 49W. We will return home around 6:30 PM. If you have scheduled a conference with Mr. Lindsay on Thursday, Nov. 2, we will need to reschedule.
If the Ponies lose Monday, we will play again on Tuesday morning, Oct. 31. The Pep Band Bus will load at 6:30AM from door 49 W. Students will return to SAHS by hour 5.
Jazz Trip to the Lawrence Jazz Festival November 3-5
The Jazz Xtets and Jazz Ensemble will travel to Lawrence University in Appleton, WI for their annual trip to the Lawrence Jazz Festival. We will leave at 12:00 noon on Friday from SAHS and return approximately 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 5.

Elementary Band Festival November 6
The Stillwater Wind Symphony joins all of our 5th grade and 8th grade student band musicians in the competition gym at SAHS on Monday, November 6 at 7:00 PM. The concert features 400 musicians celebrating the very first concert of our fifth grade musicians. This concert is free and open to the public.

Congratulations to all of our musician athletes and theater performers for a great fall season! It is so much fun to see them do so well. The production of Grease was fantastic! Congrats to all our student performers, tech crew and stage managers for an outstanding production. We look forward to following the soccer team (Congrats Chester and Jack!) through their second state tournament this week. Congrats as well to our girls volleyball team (Go Britta!) and the mountain bikers (most of the band!). Go Ponies!
