June letter

Sent June 18, 2019 via email

To All Stillwater Band Musicians and their families,

We hope your first two weeks of summer have been restful and full of fun.  Mr. Bryan and I have certainly taken advantage to spend time with family and friends.  We hope you have as well.

By mid June, I know I am usually ready to start some new challenges. Summer is a great time to spend exploring your instrument. To this end, Mr. Bryan and I have created some FREE summer challenges on scales, solos, jazz improvisation and sight reading to help you continue to improve. You also can earn you points toward your band letter and extra credit next fall.  Click on SUMMER MUSIC CHALLENGES for more information!

All students in the Stillwater Bands have access to Smart Music free of charge.  If you do not have an active subscription, please click this link for more information.

Private Lessons with a specialist on your instrument is also a great way to improve.  We have a list of teachers at the link above who teach in the area. We would highly recommend you considering private study this summer.

Summer Camps are a lot of fun and allow you to dive in to your playing. There are several that are still accepting students.   Jazz Camps, Concert Band Camps and Chamber Music Camps are available. Click on any of the links above for more information.

Don’t forget, summer rehearsals for PONY Pep Band  begin August 14!

Again, we hope you have had a great start to your summer vacation. Enjoy these wonderful weeks of summer. I know we are!

Let us know if you have any questions!

Mr. Lindsay and Mr. Bryan
